Lot 149 Coalport Bone China Limited Edition Figurine by David Cornell, Queen of Sheba

A Coalport bone china figurine titled Queen of Sheba, sculpted by David Cornell and commissioned by Compton and Woodhouse. This 1994 limited edition piece is hand-numbered 2,375 of 9,500. The figure is depicted in a standing pose wearing a tiered white and pale blue gown decorated with hand-painted gold geometric patterns and floral motifs. She wears a golden crown set with red cabochons, a long white veil, and various pieces of jewelry including necklaces, armbands, and bracelets accented in gold, red, and blue enamels. The underside of the base bears the official Coalport factory marks, including the crown symbol, Bone China, Made in England, and Est 1750. It also features the title Queen of Sheba, a stylized CW monogram, the sculptor's name, the edition number, and a 1994 copyright for Compton and Woodhouse. Additional hand-painted decorator marks include the initials YL and NL.
