Lot 146 Michael Sutty Porcelain Hand-Painted Figure, Queen Elizabeth II on Horse 1977 Silver Jubilee
This hand-painted glazed porcelain equestrian figure by Michael Sutty depicts Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II during the 1977 Silver Jubilee Trooping the Colour. The Queen is portrayed riding sidesaddle on a chestnut horse, wearing the ceremonial uniform of the Colonel-in-Chief of the Scots Guards. The uniform features a scarlet tunic with a blue Garter sash, miniature medals, and a black tricorn hat with a feathered plume. The horse is detailed with a decorated bridle and a saddlecloth bearing royal insignia. The underside of the base includes the Michael Sutty Porcelain Manufactory circular stamp with a central sword symbol, along with the printed marks Made in England and Modelled and Hand Painted. The base also features a hand-painted model number 2 and decorator initials KS in black. A commemorative laurel wreath crest topped with a crown contains the text 1977 The Queens Silver Jubilee.
