This Meissen porcelain figurine depicts a young boy shepherd in 18th-century attire playing a transverse flute. The figure is dressed in a yellow and orange striped frock coat with matching breeches, a blue patterned waistcoat, and a wide-brimmed white hat featuring a blue ribbon. The boy stands barefoot on a rococo-style scroll base with a dog positioned at his side. The piece is constructed of glazed polychrome porcelain with hand-painted details and gilded highlights on the base. Markings include an incised number 22 on the rear exterior of the base and a faint purple character resembling a script C on the underside. A small circular vent hole is present on the bottom of the base.
