Lot 138 3pc Meissen German Porcelain Fruit and Spring Motif Figurines

A group of three Meissen porcelain figurines, hand-painted and finished with gilt accents. The group includes a figure of a boy in a blue vest, seated on an overturned wicker basket and holding a cluster of grapes, with a black hat resting on his knee. The underside bears the underglaze Meissen blue crossed swords mark, along with numbers "85" and "No. 16." Also included is a figure of a young girl wearing a pink floral skirt, her apron gathered to hold fruit. She carries a bindle over her shoulder and extends an orange in her other hand. The underside is marked with the Meissen crossed swords and the number "25." The third figure represents Spring from a series of allegorical figures of the Four Seasons produced by Meissen. The female figure wears a lilac floral shawl and holds a pitcher containing flowers, with a dog positioned at her side. The Meissen porcelain manufactory, established in 1710 in Germany, was the first European producer of hard-paste porcelain. The factory became known for figural works depicting seasonal allegories, pastoral subjects, and scenes influenced by 18th-century Rococo design.
