^Lot 97 Royal Doulton Flambe Figurine, Despair HN596

Designed by Charles Noke. This small hooded figure, more commonly found in a blue glaze, is presented here in a rich red flambe finish, with characteristic tonal variations including dark blue hues and mottled green pooling near the base. A comparable example in the standard blue colorway is illustrated in the 1994 edition of "Royal Doulton Figures" book by Desmond Eyles, page 123. The underside bears the Royal Doulton Flambe mark.
