Lot 79 Lladro Porcelain Sculpture, Outing in Seville 1001756

This monumental and highly intricate hand-painted glazed porcelain sculpture by Lladro is titled Outing in Seville (Lando Sevillano), model number 1001756. The work depicts a traditional Spanish landau carriage drawn by a team of four white horses. The carriage is occupied by a male driver in traditional attire and several women and girls dressed in elaborate Sevillian flamenco-style gowns with ruffled skirts, floral hair ornaments, and handheld fans. The horses are adorned with festive harnesses and floral sprays. Sculpted by Francisco Catala and decorated by Vicente Navarro, this piece is part of a limited edition of only 500, with this specific example numbered 163. The sculpture is set upon a custom-contoured mahogany-finish wooden plinth featuring an inset brass Lladro nameplate. It is accompanied by the original framed Certificate of Authenticity dated December 15, 2000, and signed by a member of the Lladro family. Height: 17.75 inches.
