^Lot 70 Royal Doulton Flambe Lidded Tobacco Jar with Sterling Silver Rim, Curled Foxes

A Royal Doulton Flambe ceramic tobacco jar featuring a figural lid and a hallmarked silver rim. The lid is topped with a finial depicting two foxes, one seated in an alert posture and the other curled asleep. The base is decorated in the Woodcut style with a dark tonal landscape featuring a cottage and trees over a deep red ground. The upper rim of the base is fitted with a sterling silver collar by George Betjemann & Sons. Both the interior of the lid and the underside of the base bear the printed black mark Royal Doulton Flambe.
