^Lot 47 Royal Doulton by David Henry Souter Kateroo Series Ware Plate, O Perfect Love

This earthenware display plate was manufactured by Royal Doulton in England and features designs by Australian illustrator David Henry Souter. The piece is part of the Souter Cats series, also known as Kateroo seriesware. The central decoration consists of a black transfer-printed silhouette of eight cats in various sizes, titled below in block lettering O PERFECT LOVE. The artist signature SOUTER and his distinctive monogram are printed directly below the title. The wide rim is decorated with an elaborate Art Nouveau border in shades of sage green and gray, depicting four stylized female heads with flowing hair intertwined with whiplash curves, mosaic patterns, and small cat motifs. The reverse bears a green underglaze Royal Doulton factory mark.
