The earthenware body is hand-made and hand-decorated with polychrome enamels under a brilliant high-gloss glaze. The design features a portrait of Othello with a deep brown complexion, a gold-toned hoop earring, and a textured yellow turban with hand-painted accents. The handle is cleverly molded as the figure of Iago in period dress. The base is marked with the Royal Doulton backstamp.
