^Lot 330 Royal Doulton Old Curiosity Shop Dickens Series Ware Jug

This vintage Royal Doulton Charles Dickens Series ware ceramic jug, reference D5584, is modeled in the form of a two-story thatched-roof cottage representing The Old Curiosity Shop. The glazed earthenware body features relief-molded scenes with hand-painted underglaze colors in shades of brown, green, red, and blue. The front depicts Little Nell and her grandfather, while the reverse shows a secondary character from the novel. The spout is integrated into the roofline, and the handle is modeled to resemble a gnarled tree branch. The base bears the green Royal Doulton backstamp.
