Lot 273 Royal Doulton, Biddy Penny Farthing and The Balloon Man Figurines

A pair of Royal Doulton fine bone china figurines designed by Leslie Harradine, featuring two iconic characters from the street seller series. The lot includes Biddy Penny Farthing (HN 1843) and The Balloon Man (HN 1954). Biddy Penny Farthing is depicted as a standing woman wearing a white apron and a dark teal shawl with pink fringed edges, holding a basket of flowers and a large cluster of multicolored balloons. The Balloon Man depicts an elderly gentleman in a black overcoat and red waistcoat seated upon a wooden crate, also holding a bunch of balloons. Both pieces bear the green Royal Doulton factory backstamp with the lion and crown logo. The Biddy Penny Farthing base includes the text Modelled by Leslie Harradine and a 1937 copyright date.
