^Lot 196 2pc Herbiniere Siroteau and Bavarian Style Cobalt Blue Porcelain Compote Dishes

The taller compote is from the Herbiniere Siroteau studio in Tours, France, crafted in fine porcelain with a cobalt blue ground. It is decorated with a central gilded coat of arms design under a crown and a broad border of scrolling foliate motifs. The base is marked with the gilded script Herbiniere Siroteau Tours. The second compote is similar to Bavarian porcelain pieces and features a hand-painted miniature portrait of Napoleon Francois Joseph Charles Bonaparte, also known as Napoleon II. The portrait is signed M.S. in the lower right corner and is framed by an intricate gilded gothic-style lattice border.
