^Lot 191 Chinese Reverse Painted Glass Snuff Bottle

A Chinese reverse painted bottle with stopper, delicately hand-painted from the inside of the glass. The clear glass vessel features a frosted exterior surface and is decorated with a scene of beauties in a garden, depicting elegant female figures amidst a landscape of trees and rocks. The body is further embellished with etched handle attachments on either side in the form of mock lion-masks and rings, while the lower section features carved feet on the base with decorative facets. The underside is incised with the mark CHINA in block letters. The bottle is topped with a faceted clear glass stopper.
