^Lot 99 Goebel Hummel Heavenly Protection Figurine

This hand-painted ceramic figurine, titled Heavenly Protection and Schutzengel, is produced by the Goebel factory and attributed to the designs of Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel. The piece depicts a guardian angel with large, textured wings and a serene expression, wearing an orange-red cloak that shelters two children. The children are dressed in traditional Alpine clothing, with the girl featuring blonde braids and carrying a wicker basket, and the boy wearing a blue jacket, hat, and lederhosen. The figurine features a matte finish characteristic of Hummel earthenware. Visible markings include an incised M. I. Hummel signature on the back of the cloak and a printed label on the side of the base with the titles in English and German. The underside of the base displays a blue stamped Goebel W. Germany mark, an incised number 186, and a small circular indentation. The W. Germany mark indicates production prior to German reunification.
