^Lot 38 Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Fisherman Figurine

This decorative porcelain figurine depicts an elderly Asian fisherman in the Chinoiserie style. The figure is rendered in white glazed porcelain with blue underglaze decoration and gilded accents. He is dressed in a traditional conical hat, a floral-patterned robe, and trousers. Across his shoulders, he carries a blue-glazed yoke from which two separate, woven-textured baskets are suspended by gold-toned cords. The figure holds a shovel in his right hand and stands on a rocky-textured integral base. The underside of the base is covered with a gray protective foam.
