This Dresden lace porcelain figurine depicts an 18th-century courtly scene featuring a gentleman playing a flute for a seated lady. The figures are set upon an oval, white-glazed base decorated with gilt scrollwork and small yellow floral applications. The lady is seated in an ornate chair, holding a fan and wearing an elaborate pink and white gown with intricate porcelain lace ruffles and a floral-patterned skirt. The standing gentleman is dressed in a blue frock coat with gilt trim over tan breeches. A small, round pedestal table with a gilt rim and floral accents is positioned between the pair. The underside of the base bears a blue underglaze mark consisting of a crown over the letter N above the word Dresden.
