^Lot 2 G. Danti Italian Art Pottery Pirate Figurine

This mid-20th-century Italian ceramic character figurine is signed by G. Danti. The hand-painted piece depicts a pirate or swashbuckler in a boisterous pose, holding a gold-painted goblet to his mouth while cradling a wooden barrel under his left arm. The figure features a detailed, bearded face with a wide-brimmed hat and an open orange tunic over a bare torso. A multi-colored striped sash contains various weapons and a hanging skull ornament. The character wears orange breeches and tall, glossy brown boots accented with red cabochons. A long, matte-black cloak drapes behind the figure, acting as the primary support. The reverse of the cloak bears the signature G. Danti in gold-toned paint with a flourish underline.
