Item/Description: Antique Sterling Silver beard comb hair comb with a central well to contain perfume or coco oil. Dowry item for young woman. North-western India. Punjab / Rajasthan. Ornate craftsmanship. Bird design. Two figural pheasants or peacocks facing away from each other flank a central perfume chamber well with a screw in dropper top. Body of comb is hand decorated on both sides with images of a leaping lion or large jungle cat. Remnants of gilt silver wash. Hallmarked: 925.

Condition: Fair. Signs of age, use, and wear include oxidation, stopper stuck inside perfume chamber, and crest of one bird partially missing, scratches, and scuffs.
