Lot 992 Armi Jager 1863 Zouave .58 Cal #7532

Italian made Civil War replica percussion rifle with a .58 Caliber bore, and manufactured in 1976. This is a copy of the Remington 1863 Zouave rifle. Rifle features a blued finish, a 33" round barrel, dovetailed blade front sight, folding leaf rear sight, smooth curved trigger, color-case hammer with a checkered spur, color-case lock plate, brass barrel bands, brass trigger guard and tang, sling swivels on the front barrel band and trigger guard, and ramrod under barrel. The hardwood furniture consists of a smooth straight gripped shoulder stock, smooth forend, brass forearm tip, brass patch box on the right side of the shoulder stock, and smooth brass butt plate. The original blued finish retained is approximately 99% showing superficial blemishes. The color case finish is excellent with very light scratches. the brass condition is also excellent with a couple of scratches on the patch box. Metal displays rust on a tang screw and on the ramrod, but no observed deformation. The action is smooth and crisp, and the bore is bright with strong rifling, but has some white residue in the grooves. The hardwood furniture is in very good condition with small blemishes at the rear of the shoulder stock, edge wear, nicks from the hammer spur, and a few light scratches and nicks on the forend. Rifle includes a brown leather sling.
