US military semi-automatic rifle, manufactured circa 1955. (Serial Number) Features parkerized finish, wood stock & hand guards with a "P" in a circle stamped on the bottom of the stock grip, metal butt stock cap with compartment, 24" barrel, adjustable sights with protected front blade & protected rear peep, manual safety. Trigger guard has stamped style trigger guard. SA barrel dated 10-53. Bolt marked "528287 H.R.A. U.W. 751", "NM" op. rod marked "7790722-RA", the inside left of the receiver is marked in electropencil "LEAD 9-64" that indicates that the rifle underwent a rebuild or overhaul at the Letterkenny Ermy Army Depot (LEAD) in September 1964, HRA marked trigger group, WRA marked triggerguard, SA marked hammer & safety. Bore is very good/bright with strong rifling, finish is approximately 90% with some edge wear, rubs, contact wear on the bolt and receiver. Action is crisp/tight, and the wood is overall good/sound with some handling wear, scratches, minor dings. There is a 1/2" dent in the upper left side of the buttstock All markings are crisp/clear. Includes a CMP green plastic hard case, 1999 dated CMP Certificate.
