^Lot 444 1823 Restrike EF40

1823 Restrike EF40AU sharpness but cleaned and now toned pleasing golden olive and light brown. Some of the usual die rust was minimized by the cleaning. E-MDS with a bisecting die crack across the obverse from the rim under star 5 to the rim at star 12. A weaker crack extends down from the dentils between stars 7 & 8 into the field above the head, but this crack never strengthens. The reverse is uncracked and the fields are slightly reflective on both sides. Struck outside the US Mint for Mr. Mickley sometime between 1863 and 1879.Certificate Number: Pedigree: Ex; CVM - Red Henry
