1839 N-3 R1 Head of 1838, NGC graded MS64+ Brown, CAC ApprovedLustrous light bluish steel brown with tiny peeps of faded mint red on the obverse. Satiny and quite attractive. The only notable marks are a sharp diagonal nick over the E in ONE and a collection of tiny ticks right of that letter. M-LDS, die state b late. The fields are flowlined, the depression in the field over star 1 is shallow but clear, and the outside berry below the M in AMERICA is faint, nearly gone. Graded MS61 in the Noyes census, his photo #21555. Our grade is MS62.
