1839/6 N-1 R3+ Overdate 9 over 6, PCGS graded VF30, CAC ApprovedGlossy light steel brown blending to medium olive in protected areas with medium steel brown on the highpoints. Smooth with minor contact marks including some small nicks in the field before the face and a light nick under the right side of star7. The best identifying marks are a planchet flake in the dentils at the left top of the I in AMERICA and another on the end of the wreath ribbon (both as struck). MDS, die state b late. A die crack from the dentils over star 3 to the nose is clear, but there is no crack on the other side of the portrait. The overdate feature is clear. Our grade is VF20. A very nice mid-grade example of this popular "Redbook" overdate. Housed in an older generation holder (OGH).
