Lot 99 1837 N-14 R2 Plain Hair Cord, Medium Letters, PCGS graded MS65 Brown, CAC Approved
1837 N-14 R2 Plain Hair Cord, Medium Letters, PCGS graded MS65 Brown, CAC ApprovedLustrous light brown on the obverse, light olive on the reverse. Both sides show traces of mellowed mint red in the protected areas with subtle overtones of light bluish steel, especially on the reverse. The notable marks are a puff of darker olive brown toning over star 1, another at F-AM that contains extremely fine roughness, and an incipient planchet clip that weakens the dentils at star 8 and the opposing ones at the second A in AMERICA (as struck). MDS with the usual die cracks on both sides. Noyes photo #28845. Our grade is MS60+. An attractive cent that comes with a nice provenance.Certificate Number: 37168.65/30800051Pedigree: Ex Jerry A.
