Lot 96 1837 N-12 R3 Beaded Hair Cord, PCGS graded MS65 Red & Brown

1837 N-12 R3 Beaded Hair Cord, PCGS graded MS65 Red & Brown Mint red mellowing to light steel brown on the highpoints, at least half the slightly faded mint color remaining on both sides. Nearly perfect, a tiny diagonal nick right of the top of the 7 in the date and a minor planchet lamination in the dentils over IC in AMERICA meandering down the right side of the C to the left foot of the adjacent A where it fades out. E-MDS, die state a, with fine radial die flowlines covering the fields on both sides. The "Accessory E" punched into the leaves under the E in AMERICA is sharp and the repunching on the 8 in the date is clear. Called MS70- and CC#1 in the Bland census. Noyes says MS65 and tied for CC#1, his photo #21342. Our grade is MS64+, close to MS65. (The holder is scuffed.)Certificate Number: 37142.65/13092955Pedigree: Ex Dr. George P. French, B.
