1835 N-2 R3 Head of 1834, Small 8 & Stars, PCGS graded MS64 BrownLustrous dark chocolate and olive brown with delicate overtones of bluish steel on both sides. The fields are satiny and the eye appeal of this cent is excellent. The only marks are a tiny nick in the hair at the brow, a speck of darker toning over the left edge of the O in ONE, and a tiny planchet chip right of the center dot on the reverse. Sharply struck EDS, die state a. The repunching at UN is sharp, including a fine but complete arc inside the bottom of the U. The die cut across the cheek is bold. Called MS63 and tied for CC#1 in the Bland census. Noyes says MS60 net AU50 and tied for CC#4, his photo #21868.
