Savage Model 99G Lever Action Takedown Rifle, #338974, .250-3000 Savage cal., 22'' barrel, with blue finish. Checkered walnut pistol grip stock with Schnabel forend, checkered hard rubber grip cap, and ribbed blue steel ''SVG'' marked buttplate, providing a 13'' LOP. Rifle also features a ramped German silver blade front sight, standard elevator ''U''-notched rear sight, brass cartridge counter with internal rotary magazine, and the upper tang is factory drilled and tapped. Mfg'd 1931. Rifle is in fine overall condition, retaining approx. 95% reblued finish with wear and oxidation at the muzzle. Receiver shows mild edgewear, light surface erosion on the takedown collar. Lever and assembly show traces of darkened color case hardened finish. Factory lettering is clear. Stock is very good overall, with scattered indentations and scrapes consistent with field use. Buttstock with an added coat of varnish and there is a very fine 1'' crack at the top of the wrist, adjacent the upper tang. Checkering detail is good with some flattening on the forend. Action functions smoothly. Bore rates near excellent overall and is bright with defined rifling. Est.: $500-$800. (C&R/PPT)
