^Lot 531 Modified Model 1893 Mauser Bolt Action Rifle

Modified Model 1893 Mauser Bolt Action Rifle, #D2656, 7x57mm cal., 22.25'' barrel, blued/blackened finish, hardwood stock, dovetailed blade front sight, and adjustable folding leaf rear sight with ''V''-notch, graduated to 2000 meters. Rifle has been modified by shortening the barrel, forend, and removing the associated military hardware. Marked on left side of the receiver ''MAUSER ESPANOL MODELO 1893/MANUFACTURA MAUSER OBERNDORF A/N.''. Numbers do not match. No visible import marks. Condition overall is fair as modified, with much of the metal having a dark appearance, showing wear primarily to the receiver, bolt, and buttplate. Wood has been sanded, now light in color, with few handling marks. The left side of the forend has a large piece that is missing and has been nicely smoothed out. Action functions well. Rifling is visible but the bore is dark and frosted throughout. Est.: $150-$250. (C&R/PPT)
