Antique Colt Model 1877 Lightning Double Action Revolver, #74753, .38 cal., 4.5'' barrel, originally with blue and case hardened finish, checkered black hard rubber Colt grips, blade front sight, and ''V''-notch rear sight. Mfg'd 1890. Barrel is address is marked on top of the barrel in two-lines, with ''COLT D.A. .38'' on the left side. Three-line patent dates on lower left side of the frame. Matching numbers on the frame, trigger guard, backstrap, and cylinder. Assembly number ''615'' stamped inside of the loading gate. Overall condition is good, displaying a mixture of brown and gray patina to the metal surfaces, with a more mottled appearance to the frame. Factory markings are clear. Grips show age and wear, with smoothing of the checkering, but fit well. Action functions but the cylinder is a little loose inside the frame and could use some adjustment or perhaps some parts are worn. Bore with scattered light erosion; rifling rates very good.
