Lot 199 Belgian Browning ''Broadway Trap'' Pigeon Grade Over/Under Shotgun

Belgian Browning ''Broadway Trap'' Pigeon Grade Over/Under Shotgun, #15664S3, 12 ga., 32'' barrels have a wide 5/8'' trap vent rib, target beads, 2-3/4'' chambers, and chokes measuring IM/FULL. The action is typical Browning superposed, with a large single underlug for lockup, single selective inertia trigger, and selective ejectors. The grayed receiver is ornately engraved with pairs of pigeons in flight on both sides, and ornate rose and scroll engraving surrounding most of the other surfaces. The finger groove beavertail forend and flat knob long tang pistol grip buttstock are of high gloss straight grain ''B'' grade walnut, with forend checkering at 22 LPI, no checkering on grip cap or buttstock, and a Pachmayr ''White Line'' trap recoil pad. Stock dimensions are 14-1/4'' x 1-3/8'' x 1-5/8''. Mfg'd in 1963 by FN in Belgium for Browning. Condition is near excellent for this Broadway trap gun. Barrel retains approx. 95% blue. Receiver shows light handling wear; few spots of salt and pepper darkening, and minor oxidation around the edges. Buttstock is a replacement likely because of the later changes or owner preference. The gun has been well protected during its 60+ year life, and the wood shows few handling marks as a result. The action closes very tight and functions correctly; bores are mirror bright. Est.: $1,800-$2,200. (C&R/PPT)
