Lot 1658 Pietta 1851 Griswold & Gunnison .36 Cal #400706

Reproduction blued steel and brass percussion 6-shot single-action revolver with a 7-3/8" barrel and smooth wood grips. Manufactured by F.lli Pietta in Italy, and imported by Navy Arms Co. Ridgefield, NJ. Probably marketed as a Griswold & Gunnison or Leech & Rigdon confederate copy of the Colt due to the brass frame. The cylinder has no engraving and there are several proof marks with the serial numbers. Ram rod assembly and hammer are color hardened. Bluing is 90% with light rust throughout the exterior of the barrel except for inside the bore and chambers, most likely from storage. The brass has tarnish around the screws/pins and connecting edges. Bore appears to be excellent with strong rifling. Chambers are immaculate and may be unfired. Action works well with tight lock-up. Grips are excellent.
Condition is NRA Fine-Excellent.
