Lot 1300 Tacked Hide Over Wood Pioneer Trunk.
With initials "J.C.W." on lid written in tacks and J.C. Wardrop stenciled on the bottom. Wardrop was born in South Carolina about 1811-12 and died in Texas in 1880-90 approximately. Measures: 24"L x 14"W x 12"H. Provenance: Lang Spraggins, Barry Erickson. Condition fair to good, hide curling away from wood in spots, small losses, newspaper print lines on interior.
