^Lot 1176 Colt Official Police .38 Spl #736334

"Heavy Barrel". Vintage medium frame double action revolver chambered in .38 Special, manufactured circa 1947. The Official Police was one of the best selling police firearms of all time. Features a blued finish, polished hammer sides, 6" tapered barrel, serrated blade front sight, square notched rear sight, fluted six shot cylinder, non-shrouded ejector rod, serrated trigger, serrated wide hammer spur, square butt I frame and two-piece checkered walnut target grips with finger grooves and left thumb rest. The sides of the polished hammer & trigger have been machine turned, 'Jeweled". Revolver exhibits approximately 85% of it's original finish showing holster wear, minor scratches action is smooth with solid lock-up, the bore is excellent/bright and the wood grips are very good with some handling wear. Comes with a vintage black leather Lewis police style swivel holster.
