Austrailian manufactured military issue bolt action "Lee Enfield" SMLE short rifle, manufactured circa 1942. Imported by Navy Arms Co., Ridgefield, NJ, marked on right receiver rail. Featuring a 25.2" barrel with tangent rear sight graduated to 2000 meters and adjustable for windage, fixed blade front sight with curved protectors, curved grooved trigger, and bayonet lug. Fed from detachable 10-rd box magazine and does not have a magazine cutoff slot. Four piece hardwood stock with brass trapdoor buttplate. The metal is blued with 90% remaining, with the nose cap taking on a brown patina. Bore bright with strong rifling. Action is smooth/tight. Wood is serviceable with normal handling wear with 'R', 'MA', and 4/46 marked on the right side of the stock. The metal is good with very minor handling/edge wear, holes drilled in the left side chamber area of the receiver, and light rust on the left side of stripper clip guide, and nose cap. Serial numbers do not match. Receiver is marked with M.A. Lithgow and an asterisk. Includes (1) Magazine.
