The stock also bears impression markings from long term storage in a soft case in the finish on the left side of the butt. The upper handguard has a through crack spanning from the forward sling stud rearward under the barrel band, left of centerline. There is a second crack on the left of the upper handguard that starts an inch behind the crack in the stock and stops just ahead of the barrel band. The stock remains serviceable, but carries various depressions and some heavy scratching on the right face of the butt.
