U.S WWII era military bolt action rifle manufactured circa 194. Serial number on dates it to June. 43, R.A. barrel dated 5-44. Features full parkerized finish, straight wrist 03-A3 walnut stock without grasping grooves, walnut handguard, 24" barrel, protected blade front sight , adjustable peep rear sight mounted to receiver, bent bolt handle, bolt shroud stamped "R", and front blade stamped "A",manual safety, magazine cut-off switch, sling swivels, stacking swivel, butt trap with hinged cover, checkered flat steel buttplate. Bottom metal and bands are stamped. Stock is stamped with FJA cartouche- Frank J Atwood (military inspector), RA (Remington Arms) and "P" in circle on underside of grip. The markings on the bottom of the stock are factory inspector markings. Retains about 97% parkerized finish with scuffs on the front sight band. Stock is excellent. Action is crisp/tight. Bore is very good/bright, all marking are crisp/clear.
