^Lot 666 Winchester Model 55 .30-30 SN: 870

Vintage 'Take-Down' rifle. Very early 3 digit serial number, manufactured circa 1924. Features 24" tapered barrel, 2/3 length magazine tube, take down lever at magazine cap, buckhorn sights, dovetailed post/bead front sight, straight grip, shotgun butt with grooved steel buttplate. Bore is good, strong rifling, frosted grooves. Retains about 50% blued finish mostly on the barrel, handling wear on the receiver with many small patches of patina or light pitting on receiver, has a molted gray/brown appearance. Wood is overall good/sound with minor small dings/dents, there a couple of hairline cracks on the bottom of the buttstock, good fit to metal. Action operates smoothly. Markings are crisp.
