3rd Model, Mfg 1887. Notable in possessing the rare 62B tang sight (an option during original manufacture). Metal is in good condition, with original brown patina. Metal shows some Features 24" octagon barrel, full length magazine tube, dovetailed blade,buckhorn sights, straight wrist, finger lever latch, sliding dust cover, steel crescent buttplate, lever safety. Bore is fair condition, bright with good rifling, showing some areas of light scattered tiny pits. Barrel is a dull blue with edge wear to the flats, turning a brown patina from handling on the lower section, magazine tube is light brown patina and the receiver still shows feint case coloring, heavy handling wear towards the front. The dust cover and loading gate are mostly blue. Buttplate has no finish left. Wood is nicely figured, good condition, solid with visible grain, minor dents and scratches throughout. Wood to metal fit is good. Action is smooth. Model marking on top tang is crisp & even. Two line barrel address and serial number on bottom tang are crisp/readable. "32 Cal" brass lifter marking is clear. Action is smooth. Includes letter from Cody Firearms Museum confirming configuration as shipped. Shipped from the warehouse on July 20, 1888.
