^Lot 208a Colt Single Action Army .38-40 #236576

Vintage 1st Generation Colt SAA. 4 3/4" barrel. Manufactured 1902. Blue finish, case hardened frame, non factory two piece smooth wood grips, grips have age and appear to have been there a long time. Matching serial numbers on frame, triggerguard & back strap. Assembly number "767" on loading gate. crescent ejector rod head. Two line Colt address on top of barrel, "38 W.C.F." on left side. Two line patent dates and 'Rampant Colt" on left frame. Bore is fair to good, bright, strong rifling with some scattered very light pitting, action is crisp/tight, half cock works well. Revolver retains about 20% blue in protected areas, feint traces of case colors on the frame. The wood grips have a little shrinkage and the is a small gap between the frame and backstrap as the screws may be later replacements. The Colt markings are clear/readable.
