WW2 US military semiautomatic rifle manufactured circa 1944. Features parkerized finish,type III, low wood, oval cut late war walnut stock stamped "OI" in sling well, manufactured by S.E. Overton for Inland & late war 4 rivet handguard, underside also stamped "OI", protected blade front sight, Type 3, late war peep rear sight with sliding elevator, marked 'I.R. Co. T160060'' (International Register Company,)18" barrel, push button manual safety, front sling swivel, oval sling slot in butt, accepts detachable magazine. Corert type II barrel band, lightly struck "AS" in triangle, American Swiss, barrel band subcontractor for Inland. Late war type III round top bolt, recoil plate stamped "DI", Dayton Mold Company, a subcontractor to Inland and the hammer stamped "II" (Inland). Bore appears excellent/bright. Retains about 92% finish, colors and textures consistent with US production or US military arsenals, shows loss on edges and where moving parts rub, friction wear on the bolt. Wood is very good/sound with minor dings. Markings include "INLAND MFG. DIV. GENERAL MOTORS 08-44" on barrel and crossed cannons ordnance stamp on right buttstock. Inland marked receiver. Serial number places it in production by Inland 01/44-08/44 making this carbine a date correct, parts correct late WW2 carbine. No importer marks observed. No Magazine.
