"Meachum" conversion of Sharps carbine, serial #C32727, action to 45 2/10 cal (.45-70). BBL is old reliable marked and period shortened to 22" and of heavier than standard weight. Double-set triggers. Standard Sharps rear ladder sight and Western made fine post front sight. Bright and very good bore. Triggers work. And good overall with many losses to forearm of wood along edges. The bbl is numbered 32727, the original number of carbine, and 160155, also 15676 along with a #16 by the forward forend screw (weight of bbl)? These numbers may be researchable through Sharps Research Service as to extra bbls or guns returned and re-sold by Sharps to dealers. James Wells "Buffalo Hunt" Collection.
