Vintage high quality Lebeau-Courally SxS sideplate ejector shotgun. Belgian firearms manufacturer with a long history in the production of high-quality shotguns and rifles. The company was founded by Auguste Lebeau in 1865 and later merged with the Courally family in 1885. 27-3/4’’ chopper lump barrels, concave solid rib, brass bead. Right barrel marked "Aug. Lebeau-Courally A Liege", left marked "Fabt Des Coups De Russell D'Espagne & D-Italie ” Bottom of bbls. are marked “ACIER COMPRIME/DE WAHLREYNE”, with Belgium proofs including "C" over 12 in diamond which dates the gun t0 1898-1924. Both locks marked "Fabricant A liege". The safety "S" is gold inlay, coin finished receiver has extensive coverage of English rose & scroll engraving that extends to forearm iron with borders at breech end of barrels, high relief acanthus leaves engraved on the bolsters. Features include double under lug and third bite locking, selective ejectors & double triggers with articulated front trigger. Splinter forearm with Anson release and straight hand stock of exhibition quality European walnut have burl figure with contrasting dark and orange tones. Stock and forearm have generous coverage of point pattern hand checkering. Toeline of stock has brass nameplate. all matching serial numbers Bores are very good/bright, receiver is very good, barrels lock-up tight, barrel blue is about 95% with minor scratches/scuffs, slight muzzle wear and the wood is overall good with wear to the forearm checkering, many scratches and a circular crack in the heel of the buttstock. stock measurements-Lop-14" to front trigger, Dac-1 1/2" and Dah-2 1/2".
