Lot 782 Ca. 18th C. Brass Continental Bed Warmer & Scoop

Featured in this lot is this brass Continental bed warmer and coal scoop circa 18th century. The bed warmer features a wonderfully and professionally crafted brass and wooden construction that shows a compartment at the end of a longer shaft and shows the scoop constructed from forged iron shaft with a brass spoon for the coal scoops. These bed warmers were menat to hold hot coals as a means to heat up ones cold bed int he winter. The condition of this bed warmer is well preserved with some patina to the brass compartment and oxidation of the shaft of the coal scoop and patina to the brass spoon of the scoop but otherwise shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this bed warmer is 40" x 3" x 9 1/2". The collective weight of this bed warmer is 12lb 4oz.
