Lot 694 Bone Die From Acme Saloon El Paso, TX 1895

For your consideration is this rare, 1895 "Good For Drink" bone die from the Acme Saloon in El Paso, Texas. The dice shows a bone construction and shows black ink marking the sides of the die and reads, "ACME / R B Stevens / Good For Drink". It shows good condition overall with slight wear present from its age and use over the years, but no signs of damage is noted. It measures 5/8" L x 5/8" W x 5/8" H and weighs under 6 ounces. Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona, complete with a letter confirming the origin written by Joe Soebbing that reads as follows: "To Whom It May Concern; This 1895 single die marked, "Acme" was purchased in 1987 from Tom Kolbertson of El Paso, Texas who said he got it from the Acme Saloon in El Paso. John Wesley Hardin was killed in this saloon. I purchased Tom's entire El Paso Saloon and Old West paper collection. He is an honorable man and I have no reason to doubt his word on anything.
