Lot 637 Antique Adams & Westlake Brass RR Wall Lantern

Offered in this lot is an Antique Adams & Westlake Painted Brass Railroad Car Candle Sconce, 1907 patented. Provenance: Tombstone Western Heritage Museum, Tombstone, Arizona. The Adams & Westlake Company, also known as Adlake, was a wholesale house that supplied every necessary part for the construction, equipment, and operation of a railroad during the boom years of the railroad industry in the late 19th century. This included everything from small iron and steel hardware to stoves and lanterns as well as all of the interior fittings of the famous Pullman railcars: seats, water tanks, letter boxes, pull cords, sleeper car curtain rods, door locks, mirror frames, metal signs and even the very rails under the car’s wheels. This brass ADLAKE wall sconce lantern features the "Adams & Westlake Chicago" stamp on the opposite side of the wall sconce bracket, the "patented 1907" stamp on the top of the wick cover. Candle wax pool waste noted in spring loaded chamber. Wall sconce lantern is in good overall condition, black paint wear from age and use noted. Glass chimney not included. Measures 3.25"W x 6.75"L, weight is 10oz.
