^Lot 535 Montana, Deer Lodge Prison Made Headstall & Reins

Featured in this lot is this hitched horse hair headstall and reins from Deer Lodge Prison, Montana circa 1960's. The headstall and reins show a consistent design and format to the horse hair hitching with round cores of tail hair with black or dyed black with white tail hair Turks Head knots and ends shown present securing the corded frame. The headstall and reins show sinew sewn leather wrapping to the ends. The condition of this Deer Lodge Prison made headstall and reins is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage and shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this headstall is 26 1/2" x 7 3/4" x 8" and the rein length is 66"
