Lot 480 Early Children w/ Guns CDV Cabinet Card Photos (3)
For your consideration are three original photographs of young boys holding firearms in the late 19th / early 20th century; includes CDV Carte de visite, cabinet card, real photo postcard. The first photo, is a real photo postcard and shows a young boy in a cowboy outfit holding a rope and sports a toy revolver on his hip. He is wearing a cowboy hat and a bandana around his neck as he smiles towards the camera. The back of the photo postcard is marked reading, "To Aunt Mary From Irving". The second photo shows a young boy standing in a studio holding a small toy rifle by the barrel as the stock sits on the ground. The bottom of the photo is marked reading, "R. Price. Photographer. 322 Eighth Ave, N.Y.". The third and final photo shows two teenage boys standing in a snowy yard pointing rifles at each other in a playful manner. The photos show good condition overall with little slight wear present from their age and use over the years, but no major signs of damage is noted. They measure from 5 1/2" L x 3 3/8" W to 4" L x 2 1/2" W and weigh under 6 ounces. Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. BR40 P114 CH143
