Lot 422 3 1/8" Birch Creek Cluster Point 9000-7000 BP
Featured in this lot is this 3 1/8" Birch Creek cluster point dated from 9000 to 7000 B.P. and from the Early to Middle Holocene period and was displayed previously in the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. This is a narrow medium ovoid to lanceolate point with an elliptical to plano convex cross section. The blade is excurvate, curving back in towards the base (Type B). The base ranges from straight to slightly concave to convex with rounded basal corners This point has a random flaking pattern. The condition of this point is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage and shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this point is 3 1/8" x 7/8". The collective weight of this point is 17.3g.
