Lot 372 RARE Original Pat Garrett Court Document
Featured in this lot is this court order from Justice of the Peace Miguel Trujillo to (in this case) Bailiff of Dona Ana County Pat Garrett; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. The court order is written in Spanish and comes complete with a translation accompanying it from Tombstone Western Heritage Museum. The order remits an unnamed individual into the custody of Pat Garrett until he pays his $5.00 fine (which he refused to pay). Patrick Floyd Jarvis Garrett (June 5, 1850 – February 29, 1908) was an American Old West lawman, bartender and customs agent known for killing Billy the Kid. He was the sheriff of Lincoln County, New Mexico, as well as Doña Ana County, New Mexico. The condition of this letter from the Justice of the Peace Miguel Trujillo to Pat Garrett is well preserved with some browning to the page consistent with age but otherwise shows shows a well preserved condition.
