^Lot 647 Italian Model 1891 Carcano Bolt Action Carbine with Folding Bayonet

Italian Model 1891 Carcano Bolt Action Carbine with Folding Bayonet, #G5621, 6.5x52mm cal., 17.75" barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock and handguard, blade front sight, and adjustable rear sight with "V"-notched groove, graduated to 1500 meters. Folding bayonet is in good condition, showing patina and frosting, but the release latch is jammed and the bayonet will not open. Includes a two-piece steel cleaning rod in the buttstock trap. Top of the barrel shank is marked "F.N.A.BRESCIA/(crown)RE", with "38-XVI" stamped on the right side. There is a faint, partially readable roundel stamped "BRESCIA" on left side of the buttstock. Matching number on left side of the buttstock. No visible import marks. Condition overall is good, retaining approx. 50% blue mixed with dark patina, especially to the barrel and buttplate. Wood with general handling marks, bruises, and finish loss. There is a 1" crack to top of the handguard, forward of the rear sight. Action operates smoothly. Bore rates fair with clear rifling but may clean better. Est.: $200-$350. (C&R)
